White Trace
White Trace begins with a simple question: where do the materials we work with actually come from?
Based on research at the Hirschau–Schnaittenbach quarry in Germany, the project traces the origin of raw materials used in ceramics and other everyday products.
Through video, sound, quarry waste and found objects the installation reveals a landscape that is both present and hidden, shaped by continuous extraction and transformation.
It shifts attention to the site where material begins, questioning our relationship to resources and exposing the impact embedded in their extraction, often overlooked by those who consume the final products.
