This series of vessels is made by pressing crocheted cotton into clay and firing it in the kiln. The cotton burns away, leaving its texture imprinted in the surface. These areas are highlighted with oxides, which settle into the recesses and darken the pattern.

The pieces translate a soft, flexible material into a fixed ceramic form, creating a contrast between smooth surfaces and sharp, detailed textures. The vessels sit between presence and absence: the material is gone, but its trace remains.
