Parallel Worlds

This project was created for the Lighting Guerrilla Festival in Ljubljana.

The installation draws on a familiar everyday scene: a park bench and a waste bin sheltered beneath two umbrellas. At night, shifting RGB light brings the scene to life. Although the physical elements remain unchanged, their appearance is continuously transformed through colour and light.

The work reflects on the contrast between public space as something shared and the experience of that space as something inherently personal. The same scene can give rise to different perceptions, interpretations, stories, and worlds. Diversity is understood not as a statement, but as a fundamental condition of perception, shaped by individual perspective and circumstance.

Rather than presenting a single fixed image, the installation allows multiple versions of the same space to emerge and coexist. In doing so, it suggests that difference is not something that disrupts a shared reality, but something that forms an essential part of it.
